Last night it was (almost) perfect. The OSWIN radar showed it all day long and from 22:30 the NLCs were visible also in the northwest. From the “Alte Liebe” I took some pictures until about midnight. Then the low clouds moved in again and obscured the NLCs.

In my previous attempts the NLCs were rather visible at the horizon edge, this time they were also quite high. In the 100% detail view you can also see the unusual structures of these ice crystal clouds in the mesopause.

Ein paar Tage geht die Saison noch, mal schauen, ob sich noch weitere Gelegenheiten ergeben.

With the Fuji X-T20 and the 18-55mm I have created during the time shots for a timelapse. It was worth it in any case…
