So, here we go. The 108 page photo book about the northern Cuxland. As a supplement to the photo guide Photography in Cuxland comes here as a picture book with a little bit of writing. The quality is good, even if a few shots could have been printed a little brighter. The book binding itself […]

Ordered on Tuesday, delivered today. The contracted printing company was not only fast but also delivered excellent quality. Only when you look closely you will notice the screening from the digital print. The colors are much better than in the test version. As of now, the booklet can be purchased or ordered at Ringfoto Schattke.
So, now it is done for the time being. The second version of the brochure is finished and in test print. I didn’t really like the first version, not only in terms of layout, but also – and above all – in terms of print quality. I now hope for the latter with substantial improvement. […]
Seems to be a new trend since a few months. Low use, maximum suck-potential. Instead of plastering advertising pillars as in the past, people now take the cheap parking space at the side of the road to put some kind of advertising on a trailer. Sucks! 5 minutes by bike, two annoyances at once.
I liked the picture with the Westerhever lighthouse quite well and therefore I have made myself times on the search for suitable software for animated pictures in the cinegraph style. The results are partly amazing, but so are the image sizes and loading times with low quality and dimensions. The Goðafoss image shown above is […]
Here are my personal favorites from the past year. Cuxhaven Picture The favorite for my Cuxhaven image from 2020 is the photo of the sunset at Sahlenburg beach. The clouds around the sun were phenomenal and the small Fuji X-T20 with the kit lens 18-55 left such a good impression here that I seriously started […]
Canon has released a firmware-update in October. Two major changes that are interesting for me: Maximum paper length for printing is now 1200mm. This means that smaller panoramas can now also be printed in larger format (432mm x 1200mm). However, the handling of roll paper is only an emergency solution here. Since the printer does not […]

The exhibition takes place in the studio of Uwe Wendland Altenwalder Chaussee 2b 27476 Cuxhaven The linked article also contains a reference to the corresponding […]
I had published my thoughts around this topic regarding photography at sunrise/sunset here. Today I have the opportunity to visualize this using an example from today’s morning shot at Cuxhaven’s Kugelbake. The picture shows the object and the structures in the sky. Easy to see which clouds don’t get any color. The accompanied part of […]
Besides choosing the right location for this kind of photography, there are conditions which allow or disallow doing it. To a good extend it is plan-able, but at last it will also need some luck. Below I tried to summarize the factors to use for prediction of such. Mid to high level clouds Clouds are […]
