Clear but cold and windy morning at Altenbruch’s lighthouse “Dicke Bertha”. River Elbe facing Hamburg direction in early morning hours. After it got too cold, I went to the Steubenhöft which was the pier for the ships heading to America in the early 20th century.
Another very nice and sunny day. A bit cold but was doable for 2h standing outside and watch the birds at the feeder place. All pictures using the D800 and the Tamron 150-600 at f6.3 on Feisol CT-3442 with Arch Swiss D4 Head.
Nearly last chance today for grabbing some pictures while having at least some sunshine. Using the Tamron 150-600 with the Nikon D5100.
Finally some nice weather today. The first time to try out the Tamron 150-600 in good conditions. Using the D2x this time. All mounted on Berlebach UNI-16 with Arca Swiss D4. Pretty good sharpness with open aperture on this camera.
We will go to Iceland in 2015. Planned route so far: Route is from Kevlavik to Snæfellsnes Latrabjarg Heydalur Sauðárkrókur Dalvik (for Whale watching) Mývatn Djúpivogur Hornafirði Ásólfsskáli Reykjavik and then back to Keflavik.
Some later afternoon/early evening shots from Bremerhaven. Unfortunately I left the Stabilizer on when I used the Sigma 24-105 on the tripod. Therefore around 20 shots were unusable. Above shot was taken with the Sigma 24-105. A really good lens, very flexible, sharp and good build quality.
Got my F-Stop Tilopa this week. I ordered together with the XL Pro ICU. I was hoping to fit 2 cameras and “normal” gear together with one of the Tele-Zooms (current: Nikkor 200-400f4 or Tamron 150-600f5-6.3) in it but it shows that the Tilopa is not wide enough to take two of these lenses together […]
Testrun of the Tamron vs. Nikkor 200-400. To get comparable focal length I used the 1.7 converter on the Nikkor and set it to 350mm. Both use open aperture which results in 6.3 on the Tamron and 6.7 on the Nikkor. Situation is in the shadows, early morning hours. Therefore both cameras where using ISO […]
Another set during again cloudy, dark weather of testing the Tamron. This time on the Nikon D800. All pictures without tripod using the stabilizer with ISO 1600.
