On the way from the harbour festival through the pilot quarter. It is noticeable that the town of Cuxhaven has little interest in a well-kept appearance. Unfortunately, things don’t look any better in the city centre.

Small articles around my photography experience
Grimmershörn
Futile attempt to see NLCs again this season, well then, the probability is decreasing for 2024, but don’t give up yet 🙂 The same motif as a b/w realisation, but with the Nikon D5300 full spectrum camera. Finally, once again the Cuxhaven landmark…
88th Duhner Wadden Race
Yesterday we visited the Duhner Wattrennen. It went really well by bike. You could actually see it quite well from the outside. With the 300mm telephoto on the Fuji crop it was also reasonably easy to photograph. In any case, the organizers were lucky with the weather. Even the Mittelplate oil rig about […]
Not too bad…
Initially, a dense cloud cover was forecast for Cuxhaven, but, as is so often the case recently, it was still quite cloud-free until midnight. The NLC radar had been very busy in the morning, so I decided to try my luck. Not as bright as the last two sessions (I’m guessing magnitude 2), but […]
Cycle tour to…
The new “Fotopoint” in Duhnen. Unfortunately, it was not possible to find out the cost of the wood-letters quickly, but I don’t think it would have been less than €15k.
An der Alten Liebe
There’s still room for improvement this year

First success of the season
While the match between Germany and Switzerland at Euro 2024 was still on, I had a hunch – the radar images were more than enough to suggest it – that I would have to go out for the first NLCs (for Cuxhaven weather) of the season. So shortly before the end of the match, I […]
Grimmershörn in infrared
A few shots of the Grimmershörn bay yesterday afternoon. The rain returned shortly afterwards. No wonder the beach chairs are deserted with the persistently unstable and cold weather conditions…
Unbelievable…
This was probably the most violent solar storm since 2003 (as reported on the Internet). Here it was – of course as always – cloudy. There was a small chance that there would be gaps in the clouds from about 2 o’clock. So I got up at 1:30 a.m. and drove to Döse, the northernmost […]
