Today I took some infrared pictures with the modified Nikon D80. About 4 more weeks, then it will be worth it with the foliage on the trees. Both images were taken with the D80, Nikkor 16-85 and a Hoya 720nm infrared filter. Editing was done in Photoshop and Lightroom on black and white.

Cuxhaven Duhnen
Duhnen on April 26, 2020. Spooky emptiness on the beach. Just a couple of strollers are on their way. If one thinks about, what’s going on here in this weather at this time of year…
Cuxhaven Döse
Yesterday I made two videos from the tourist areas Döse and Duhnen in best weather conditions. Here the Döse video. The obligatory Kugelbake monument is of course included, but it is also a nice view into the Fort Kugelbake. The – otherwise at this time of year and in this weather – well-filled motorhome parking lot […]
Cuxhaven Sahlenburg
Another video from Sahlenburg. This time on the opposite side of the Sahlenburger Strandstrasse. Too strong wind to fly higher, so I stayed at about 40m. No tourists, no beach chairs, almost no people on the way. Quite desolate, if you are used to it differently.
Markarian’s Chain
I came across this object by chance the other day and on the night of 22 April to 23 April I tried it once. The result is not quite as I would like it to be, but the raw data does not seem to give more than that. The recording data and astrometry evaluation.
M81/M82 – Bode Nebula
YES! I finally got that guiding thing down. As I had planned it yesterday, I took another look at M81/M82. With the Kenko 1.5 teleconverter I wanted to get the two galaxies bigger in the picture. However, the strong wind has put a small trickle in my calculations. Of the 200 shots, there were […]
Leo-Triplett the third
In the night from Saturday to Sunday I pointed the telescope once more at the Leo triplet and took another 100 pictures with ISO 800 á 45 seconds. From the usable 90 images together with the usable images from April 17th I got a total exposure time of 6345 seconds. First of all I am […]
Leo Triplett 2nd version
Last night I once again targeted the Leo triplet. This time with the help of a Kenko 1.5 teleconverter and with ISO 800 instead of ISO 1600. Although there are fewer shots and less light (due to the lower ISO), I like this version much better. It is planned to increase the number of shots […]
Two times Neufeld
Actually I wanted to go to Spieka-Neufeld yesterday evening, but the wind was too strong to fly and the clouds became increasingly dense. Today in the early morning it looked much better. The flight maneuvers are working better and better with the small drone. Since the weather was excellent, I drove to Dorum-Neufeld to […]
NGC 3628 – Leo Triplet
Last night I tried the Leo triplet. Because I did not use guiding, the maximum exposure time was 45 seconds per picture. Probably too little for the faint galaxies. The recording data and astrometry evaluation.
