NLC over the North Sea
Yesterday evening, it had also already announced, the first really good NLC were to be seen from Cuxhaven. First for about 30 minutes a very unusual structure was visible in NNE. In this form I had not experienced this the last years. That alone was worth going out again late in the evening. A […]
Faint NLC over Grimmershörn
Yesterday evening the radar data were quite promising. However, the strong warm air coming from the south probably prevented a larger display. Nevertheless, at least in homeopathic dose a small success in this season.
Hamburg Seehospital (Nordheim Foundation)
Yesterday afternoon I went again to the area of the Hamburg Seehospital (Nordheim Foundation) to take some infrared pictures with the D5300. Some of the images were taken with the 720nm filter, but most were taken with the red filter (should be about 680nm).
Grimmershörn Bay
So far there were unfortunately still no NLCs to see, if I tried it. However, also no clear radar signals were to be seen yet and the chances of success with it with maximally 50%.
Full spectrum infrared
First test with the Nikon D5300 (full spectrum IR). It’s a relief to be able to take the IR shots with the LiveView. The additional quality of the D5300 compared to the D80 does the rest.

Cuxland in infrared II
In the morning a short tour through Land Hadeln to Lintig in Geestland. I also made both subjects in a similar form with the Fuji X-T5. I don’t like the “normal” pictures of the windmills so much, so here only the infrared processing.
Cuxland in infrared
Three images from yesterday afternoon. All with the Nikon D80 (full spectrum IR) and the Nikkor 16-85mm.
2 Panorama shots
Yesterday, in the late afternoon, I made a long exposure of the train station with the 4.5x gray filter (on the Fuji X-T5 and the Nikkor 24 PCE). I wanted to see how the Fuji X-T5 behaves with the long exposure times during the day and see if you get the forecourt then more or […]
