El Paso Day.
First to the Cielo Vista Mall. Unfortunately, the Garmin fails again completely. Turn right where there is nothing. There I have the thing first of all shot from the dashboard … N-A-V-I-G-O-N forever!
Manually it also finds itself. Everything has changed completely. The many small stalls inside the mall didn’t exist back then. Few of the smaller stores remain either. The two big Dillard’s and JC Penny are still there more or less unchanged though.
Then a round tour through the former residential area at Vista del Sol. Ridgmar apartments have also gotten a new coat of paint in 30 years, otherwise everything is still as 1980. In the Trawood and lo and behold, Marina’s German Bakery is still there and is well visited. And the best thing about it, everything without GPS, long-term memory still works.
From there, it’s off to the Factory Outlet. 85 brand-name companies sell their goods here at very attractive prices.
Lastly, onto Scenic Drive and then to the State Line for a BBQ meal.
So fast a day can go by at 29°C…
