Finally it goes in the direction of “old home”. I’m curious what has changed so much. But before that from Alamogordo to Carlsbad to the Carlsbad Caverns.

The cave is known worldwide and very nicely developed in a typical American way. Paths lead down through the natural entrance and down through the cave.

Carlsbad Caverns

After Carlsbad, we travel via El Paso to Las Cruces.

El Paso, 30 years ago our home for 11 months. I don’t recognize it when we drive through. We do get in via Montana, but – Michael, you were absolutely right – no recognition. The city has spread out a lot and there’s also a ring road now that keeps some traffic out of the city. Not for the first time, the Garmin GPS is screwing us over. Garmin Nüvi? Never, I praise my Navigon.

Tomorrow we will have a closer look at El Paso. There are also two outlet malls. Well, shopping is a must, and my rib bruise is doing quite well again with Ibuprofen…
