El Paso Day 2.
We drove over the Franklin Mountains from Las Cruces to El Paso.
Then we drove around a little in El Paso, visited the former Gibson’s. Where there used to be a simple (but huge) supermarket, there is now another outlet store.
Around noon we tried to get into Fort Bliss. The man from the day ticket office didn’t really understand me, so I just said “Forget it” and left. Surely it would have been possible to get in, but it was not that important to me.
Then a little in the Golden Horseshoe District walked and looked, but the almost pure Mexican way was then but not so the true. Had already his reason why one was never in Downtown, although we have lived 11 months in El Paso.
Once again a short detour to Scenic Drive and then another hour in the outlet center bought a few things. I don’t know how Martin comes up with prices of $35 for jeans. Here the original Levi’s (and the other brands as well) cost about 19$.
So nothing exciting…
Tomorrow we are heading north again – to Zuni, near Gallup. Unfortunately, the probability of rain for Page and Grand Canyon has increased again. Let’s see if it will work at the Wave…
Pah!
Was meinst Du wohl, was Frau und Tochter dort erst gekauft hätten? Zwei Tüten hätten da bestimmt nicht gereicht. 🙂
