Today is Canyonlands and Arches National Park announced. The plan is to go first to Dead Horse Point State Park, then to Canyonlands National Park and in the afternoon from 2 pm to Arches National Park. So there is enough time for everything. Far from it, as it turns out later.

Dead Horse Point is already a bit better known. Wonderful view of the Green River loop and to the La Sal Mountains.

Canyonlands – Dead Horse Point

And this colleague I had already photographed 30 years ago. Has held up well, which can be said less of us…

Canyonlands – Dead Horse Point

After Dead Horse Point we go to Canyonlands. You have to see this national park. Ingenious. Many hikes that are designated accordingly (also with the infamous “here the world ends” cliffs, completely unsecured – of course) and great views of the diverse canyon landscape. All in all, you can spend in Moab with the two national parks and the activities offered times loose 2 weeks vacation, without the boredom arises.

Unfortunately, I have made a slight departure. On loose scree, that can happen sometimes. But I fell very unhappily on my back and suffered a nasty bruise. Let’s see how it goes on.

Due to the great canyon landscape we had 2 hours later only time for the Arches National Park. Anyway, it was worth it.

Arches National Park

Balanced Rock has also not visibly changed in 30 years.

The Delicate Arch can only be seen if you either do the hike there, or scramble sideways on a hill. The last variant was easier with the back problem.

And finally, Balanced Rock again at a late hour.
