Day trip to several spots south and east around the vacation home in Snorrastaðir.
Distance: 280 km
Time to drive: 3:40 h
Akranes Village (optional)
Want to check out the lighthouse located in the west of the town. Not a must though.
Hraunfossar waterfall
The Hraunfossar falls are wide but not very high splitting off in hundreds of small falls over 700 meters.
Because of the wide area a 14mm lens might be a good choice but for some details even the Tamron 70-200mm might come into play.
Deildartunguhver fountain (optional)
The Deildartunguhver is a hot fountain and included as an optional spot when time permits to go there. 180 liters/sec are ejected and the water is about 100°C hot.
Grabrok crater (optional)
Another spot which is optional if time permits to visit. A marked trail leads up to the volcano crater and should give panoramic view over the area.
Glanni waterfall
This waterfall is a cascade at the river Norðurá. Maybe not very spectacular.
A 24mm or even the Voigtländer 20mm lens might be a good choice for this area.
Short walk around the waterfall area.
