Daytrip to Helgoland. Both 150-600 lenses and the Nikkor 200-400 together with the D7200 and D4 were used for several shots. Mainly doing close-ups and in flight shots. More Helgoland pictures from this trip by clicking one of the pictures which takes you to the SmugMug gallery.

Going to Hamden for a short late morning view. The Ospreys are same as the other days. One is sitting on the nest, the other one “gone fishing”. The Bald Eagle nest was busy for 30 minutes. The chick got some food. Again they flew on the other side of the trees, so no […]

Very cloudy weather in the afternoon and not good light. Anyway trying out the Osprey and Bald Eagle spot. One of the Bald Eagles from Hamden nest was also close to the Osprey nest, flying at the other side of the lake. Two in-flight scenes left from the visit. Both Ospreys flew suddenly off and […]

Some shots of the Ospreys from one of the docks. Unfortunately the one on the pole didn’t want to move out.

Another drive to Hamden, looking for the Bald Eagle’s nest. On the way to there, I found another interesting place with an Osprey pair on a nest. In the afternoon I had another look at the Bald Eagle’s nest. With the Monk Parakreets they do have some annoying neighbors making a lot of noise. […]

A 90 minutes drive to Stateline Lookout from Shelton. Wanted to see whether there would be some photographer’s I’ve met before there and whether there would be some Bald Eagles still. Nice Peregrine perching when I arrived. Not much else going on, so another try at Lake Tappen but besides some other birds, more […]

Another business trip to USA North-East. This time I stay in Shelton, CT. After some investigations I found 2 places which could be worth to visit for possible Bald Eagle shots, knowing that the season is already over and most of them have moved north again. In the morning hours I drove to Southbury which […]
Birds in the backyard
Unbelievable combination. The D7200 and the Sigma 150-600 S plus TC-1401 does perform so fantastic. This combo results in viewing angle of approx. 1260mm equivalent in FX. These results really open the question whether one needs to spend 8 to 10k€ for a prime lens… (still on my wishlist though :-))
Birds in the backyard
Some results from shooting with the D7200 over the last days in addition to my earlier blog entry now at SmugMug having some additional and different shots.
