Quickly decided to take some shots of the back of the building using the PC-E. Unfortunately I forgot that the D2x is not suited for the lens (you cannot shoot anything else but open aperture, so f3.5). Anyways, tried my best using the manual focus with the viewfinder and, before it started raining again, her’s a […]

Cuxhaven – Alte Liebe (using the Nikkor PC-E)
First test of the Nikkor 24mm f3.5 PC-E. As I had only my D7200 available I did only 2 images one without any tilt or shift and another one using the shift for a panorama shot (portrait mode – three images).
Italy statistics
The traveling distance I tracked with my Garmin (without the way from home to Italy and back) is shown here: The distance covered is 2670 kilometers. Mainly done by car but also including footwalks, trains, underground and bus as well as the boat trip in Cinque Terre. The distance covered for the 2 days to […]
Voigtländer Apo-Lanthar 90mm f/3,5 SL II
Got this lens recently. What a nice little beauty. It offers fantastic sharpness and a bokeh that is really worth looking. The focusing works smoothly and using the focus indicator in the camera helps focussing correctly. Some shots taken of flowers and in the harbor.

Always forgot to create these presets. Complete set of presets using SpyderCheckr for the D7200 are available here.
Nikon D500 is available
Got my D500 today. First impression… An awesome camera. Did some quick shots using the Nikkor 500 + TC-14.
Sigma 10-20mm f3.5 EX DC HSM
Recently bought a Sigma 10-20f3.5 ultra-wide for DX. Together with my Sigma 30f1.4 this would give a light combination for walking trips in cities and also for landscape shots using the D7200. The 30f1.4 proves absolutely fantastic sharpness on DX but would need company for wide angles. This one entry is purely focussing on the […]
Long-lens only packing
Since some time I am looking for a backpack that allows me to transport my long lenses with attached camera. Not really designed for flying but to have at least 2 long lenses with camera with me in a single bag. Suggestions from discussion forum members were on several backpacks allowing to do so but […]
