On October 25, the partial solar eclipse visible from Germany took place. At first it did not look as if the weather would play along. But the second half of the approx. 2 hours it was clear.

Partial solar eclipse between 12:11 and 12:55

I had both telescopes set up. At the CGEM26 with the Skywatcher ED 72/420 I had mounted the ASI183MC. Since I could not perform a direct polar alignment, the position of the sun was not so easy to find. After a “felt” eternity it succeeded then however. The next challenge was the focusing. The “normal” autofocus on stars did not work, so try-and-error. Whether I hit the optimum now, I dare to doubt, but for the first appearance of this combination it goes for now.

The combination Skywatcher GTi with the Skywatcher Maksutov 1300 worked out more simply from the finding, since here simply visually could be checked, before I mounted a camera. The Newtonian rings are a bit annoying with this combination.

A short timelapse was also taken with the ASI183MC. The single shots were taken between 12:11 and 12:55 in intervals of 20 seconds.
