From Levanto we drove via Carrara and Lucca to Artimino, our next 7 day stay in Tuscany. From there we did day trips to the planned areas. First day of our stay was utilized by the cooking course in which we learned how to make Pasta and Cantucci. Finally, after the whole trip, it was […]

Cinque Terre
We went from home by car down to Como in Italy for a one night stay because travel distance was too much to do it in one go. So, our travel truly started on the next day when we drove to Levanto. The road led us via Milano and Genova down to our first destination. […]
Sunset at Obereversand
I did several attempts to shoot another time at Obereversand while having sunset, but either time didn’t permit or the weather was turning so that the scenery didn’t look as I was expecting. Yesterday it worked quite well. I spent 2h there shooting several scenes. Although the evening was quite nice I prefer to go […]
Westerheversand Lighthouse
We went there yesterday to take some shots according to my planning. However, the second part from the planning didn’t work out as the second and third planned locations are not doable due to no pathway to get there (which isn’t showing as good on Google Maps) and also it is closed rest area for breeding […]
Improving planning skills
I try to improve my planning skills for photo location visits. Of course this cannot be done for each and every location but it might provide some good results for a specific shooting in a single location. Voigtländer Apo-Lanthar 90mm f/3,5 SL II
Got this lens recently. What a nice little beauty. It offers fantastic sharpness and a bokeh that is really worth looking. The focusing works smoothly and using the focus indicator in the camera helps focussing correctly. Some shots taken of flowers and in the harbor.
Cuxhaven – Common terns
Some more time spent to shoot some common terns. Besides those I also did some bunblebee shots in the garden which came out quite nicely.
Cuxhaven – Common terns
I was out to the Kugelbake area to shoot some common terns. Unfortunately the wind direction was from south-east so it was rarely seen from front when the terns flew up from the water after they picked a fish as they mostly get up against the wind. First day I used the D500 with my […]
The problem owning Sigma lenses
I own several Sigma lenses and the company has grown recently by introducing their new concept of Contemporary, Art and Sport lens classification. While Contemporary is their consumer (budget) area, the Art and Sport series represent high class lens builds having Art labeled lenses in the lower focal length area and Sport classifying the tele […]
After the thunderstorm
Some pictures taken after heavy rain and thunderstorm in the harbor area. The sun came out late in the evening while the clouds where moving towards north-east.
