Actually, I wanted to photograph the Milky Way. At full moon and ground fog a very bad idea. Nevertheless it was a successful night, because I was able to photograph the probably last NLCs for this year. Okay, Milky Way wasn’t, but the location’s probably pretty good for that. Next week the moon will not […]

Timelapse – Cuxhaven Nature Reserve
The 4K video is composed of 750 frames (30 frames/sec) with the Nikon D2x and the Sigma 30mm. It was a little too windy, which brings a lot of motion into the trees and bushes. Here is the setup for the video.
It could have been worse…
Actually a good cloud forecast was given for the evening (52% high clouds), in the course of the afternoon this shifted towards 82%, so rather bad conditions for some nice sunset pictures. I decided to give it a go anyway. Instead of the nature reserve close to Cuxhaven I went to Cappel-Neufeld beach. The Zeiss […]
Old Sahlenburg shooting range

Early morning in the nature reserve
In the evening light I didn’t like the landscape so much, so I tried to take the same picture the following days hoping for good weather in the early morning. Unfortunately, in the last few days, the weather put a spoke in my wheel. This morning it worked (almost) for a short time. Not quite as […]
Nature reserve sunset
Lastly missed because of too many clouds coming up and on the last two days because I hadn’t expected a good sunset, I tried it again yesterday. But there were hardly any clouds in the sky, so it’s not as I imagined it would be. But, after all, quite nice so far. The panorama shot […]
A little too late…
Actually, it was supposed to be a beautiful sunset. Unfortunately the predicted clouds pushed themselves already earlier before the sun, so that this could become foreseeable nothing more. Too late, because we also missed the late sunlight on the fresh leaves of the birch trees in the nature reserve.
Windmill Betty
First of all I wanted to see which field planting is in front of the mill. Unfortunately not rape, as I would have wished.
