Yesterday evening, a not so often seen phenomenon could be seen, a so-called moon halo. First I had made a few pictures with the smartphone camera, but that seemed to me not purposeful. Then I quickly set up my tripod and the X-T3 with the Fujinon 10-20.

M31 – Andromeda Galaxy
In the night of August 12th to 13th I took some shots of the Andromeda galaxy again. Due to wrong polar alignment the telescope drifted far out of my view later, so that from the originally planned 350 images only 122 usable ones remained. The sharpness also still leaves to be desired. The recording data.
Nordholz wind farm
On August 10th I was at the Nordholz wind farm to photograph the Milky Way. The wind was a little bit too strong, so that the rotor blades are unfortunately not to be seen on the photos. Here both pictures were taken with the Fuji X-T20 and the Fujinon 10-24/f4. The first picture is composed […]
From Dusk till Dawn
A clear night is predicted, so I wanted take another set of pictures of comet C/2020 F3 Neowise. This time I was on the way from 2130h to 0330h and set up my cameras at three different locations. It started at the Little Prussian lighthouse in Wremen. Here were some photographers on site. First the […]
C/2020 F3 Neowise
Last night I took another set of pictures of the comet. This time from Nordholz with a few windmills in the foreground. Here’s a close-up shot using the Nikkor 300mm, stackt from 20 images. With the Fuji I also created a short timelapse.
Finally…
… clear skies. Since at least one week I wait to be able to photograph the comet C/2020 Neowise. Last night it finally worked out. However, there were no NLCs last night, but maybe this possibility will open up again next week. Here is a stack of 16 images at 200mm with the Nikon D850 […]
C/2017 T2 (PANSTARRS)
The night I wanted to take pictures of the M81/M82, I had to wait a little bit before it was dark enough. Since the C/2019 comet had burst two days before, I targeted the C/2017 T2 (PANSTARRS) comet and took 20 pictures as a test. What a pity, I wish I had taken more 🙂 […]
M42 – Orion Nebula
I have reworked my picture of the M42 from March 2020. The first version had a strong banding which became very visible in the dark areas. Furthermore I made the core a bit darker to bring out the objects there a bit better. In addition, 32 light frames were sorted out where the image was […]
Markarian’s Chain
I came across this object by chance the other day and on the night of 22 April to 23 April I tried it once. The result is not quite as I would like it to be, but the raw data does not seem to give more than that. The recording data and astrometry evaluation.
M81/M82 – Bode Nebula
YES! I finally got that guiding thing down. As I had planned it yesterday, I took another look at M81/M82. With the Kenko 1.5 teleconverter I wanted to get the two galaxies bigger in the picture. However, the strong wind has put a small trickle in my calculations. Of the 200 shots, there were […]
