Bad weather in the morning and when looking at the Iceland weather forecast page, it doesn’t seem to get better. We’ll skip Snæfellsnes for today and try tomorrow with the hope of some better weather. Instead we’re going to the palces which were planned for day 3, Glanni waterfall and Hraunfossar.
Arriving at Glanni after a 1he drive we can see the waterfall at least without rain. The waterfall itself is not that spectacular but still nice to view.
After some shots of the Glanni we are heading towards Hraunfossar. Our first gravel road is suggested by the Navigon. The Suzuki does not have a real problem with the street but rattles when hitting waves in the street. Anyway, after around 1h we arrive at Hraunfossar.
The waterfall is much bigger than Glanni and extremely wide but not high. It consists of several small falls stumbling into the Hvítá.
On the way back to Snorrastaðir we fill gas for the Suzuki in Borganes and buy some stuff missed yesterday.
After a short break in Snorrastaðir we give Langaholt a try just to see whether the Snæfellsjökull is visible but it turns out that this is not the case.
However lot of Terns, a Eurasian Curlew with chicks and a Common Oystercatcher getting close to the car. Good that I had the Tamron with me.
After getting back to Snorrastaðir we find for the first time the place in the sun. I captured some nice shots of the goats at the rental home and then headed towards the small bridge close to the house to grab some shots of the Eldborg í Hnappadal volcano crater which is close to the houses.
… das ist doch eine tolle Alternative zu „Kugelbake“ und „Alte Liebe“!
Viel Spaß weiterhin und vor allem trockenes Wetter!
Gruß
Manfred
Das auf jeden Fall und wesentlich abwechslungsreicher
Hab grad mal nachgeschaut… max 14-16 Grad?
