I had already my doubts when weather forecast was showing clouds coming in from the north over the northern part of Germany. Anyways, I got up at 4:15 to drive to the lighthouse in Dorum-Neufeld for some shots of the eclipse. I arrived shortly after 5:15 having another 30 minutes until the total eclipse should […]

Klimahaus Bremerhaven 8° Ost
A classic shot of the Klimahaus, however, it was muddy and raining and very strong wind. Therefore the boats in front of the building are blurred heavily and the mood wasn’t great 😉 Three shots with the D850 using the Nikkor 24/f3.5 PC-E in portrait mode .
Early evening over the wadden sea
After long weeks without good weather, yesterday’s sky looked promising. I took the opportunity and went to the wadden sea in Sahlenburg, where I was able to get the below panorama image (2 images stacked vertically).
Scoop mill Honigfleth
I had already picked out the mill – in its origin from 16th century – some time ago. Yesterday we had a look at the object. To take photos, the place is rather less suitable, because it is teeming with modern windmills and electricity pylons, no matter from which direction.
Sunrise @ Kugelbake
It has been a while since I was doing some shots at sunrise at Kugelbake. So, quite a pleasing morning although too many low clouds hindered the red coming more through.
Lunar eclipse
After a week without Internet I can finally share my picture which was taken during the lunar eclipse from last week’s Saturday. Unfortunately the moon became visible quite late and therefore it was impossible to do the picture I was aiming for which was to have the moon on the left side of the monument. […]
Kugelbake with rising moon
It’s been a while since I have been at the Kugelbake. Weather was good, no clouds announced and moonrise right behind the Kugelbake monument and in addition low tide so I could setup my gear in the wadden sea. I arrived at around 11pm and the scenery was still in the light of the sunset […]
Common linnet @ Obereversand
Close to the lighthouse Obereversand there are always Common Linnets and later the year starlings in the wild brier hedge. and as a short interlude, a panoramic version of the lighthouse (without tripod at 200mm).
Cappel-Neufeld timelapse
Last test on this before vacation. The problem with manual mode during evening/morning hours is that the light drops resp. kicks in so drastically. After some further reading on the topic, the best way to avoid such is to switch to Aperture-priority mode during capture. However, this will introduce flickering which can be very annoying. […]
Cuxhaven – Sahlenburg
Some nice skies over the wadden sea during the evening hours. The band of clouds at the horizon hindered a more colorful sunset. I used the D850 with my Zeiss 18f/3.5 for some shots. Of course I let the timelapse camera run as well.
