The second region we passed through was Vestfirðir (Westfjords). The picture below will forward to the SmugMug folder. Again, the bird shots taken during the travel are all in one folder which will get more pictures added throughout the review of the other regions. The same applies to the black & white extracts of some pictures taken.

Iceland Pictures: Vesturland
First set of pictures have been reviewed and reworked. I will organize the sets by Iceland regions. The first we travelled was Vesturland (Western Region). The picture below will forward to the SmugMug folder. The bird shots taken during the travel are all in one folder which will get more pictures added throughout the review of the […]
Some missing gems from 2012 New York trip
I missed some nice pictures from my January 2012 New York trip. Looking through my older pictures to see what could be used for the Lightroom 6 photo-merge testing, I found lots of panoramas I didn’t run through and besides this also few normal pictures. Here are some of them, more available on the SmugMug […]
Cuxhaven harbour
Even in summer the weather in Iceland can be of any kind. However these days it is like there also here in Cuxhaven. Clouds, some small openings in the clouds, rain and so on. All pictures taken with Nikon D800 and Sigma 24-105f4 mounted on Gitzo DT4552TS with Arca Swiss D4. Also trying out a […]
Windmill Amanda in Grefenmoor
Some pictures of the windmill Amanda in Grefenmoor close to Stade. All these pictures were taken in 2006 using the Olympus E-500 with standard kit lenses. At that time I was mainly doing panorama pictures stitched together of several shots using a self-made nodal adapter. For the first time the smock mill was built in 1853. […]
Flight at Kugelbake
Short flight with the DJI at Cuxhaven Kugelbake. Last flight I did was in the morning hours so the sun was behind the Kugelbake. Today in the early evening hours the light was coming from the opposite side. Unfortunately still a lot of people around so I went a bit offside.
Common Redshank in the salt marsh
Wanted to give the Gitzo a try using the Wimberley WH200. It does work quite nice but has no chance when compared to the Berlebach UNI-16. So, whenever size and weight allows, the UNI-16 is the first choice. A pair of Common Redshank were often up in the air to get the Seagulls away from their […]
Sunday May 10th, 2015 (addendum)
I totally forgot about the later afternoon pictures from the recent US trip. Some nice shots of the Bald Eagle’s nest with the adult sitting in. The late afternoon light was giving these pictures a much nicer look than the morning pictures. The above gives an impression on the nest size.
Polder Glies
Not a lot of action at Polder Glies but at least I was able to shoot my first cuckoo ever. The little Barn Swallow wasn’t scared and sat at the look out so I had to move backwards to get into shooting distance.
Seafowl in Cappel-Neufeld
Early morning quick stop in Cappel-Neufeld for some Oystercatchers. Unfortunately not the promised weather. Nevertheless two shots worth to keep as they show a very calm sea.
