During a visit in the area where I was born I had the opportunity to take a few pictures of the windmills taht are maintained and mostly well restored there. The weather on last Thursday was quite pleasing. Most of the windmills there are so called “Galerieholländer” or “Wallholländer”. Most of the time the 24mm […]

Windmill Ursel
Last night we explored the area around Dedesdorf. I had the windmill since some time on my todo-list. Well, the sky didn’t play along completely, but it was still worth it.
Klimahaus Bremerhaven 8° Ost
A classic shot of the Klimahaus, however, it was muddy and raining and very strong wind. Therefore the boats in front of the building are blurred heavily and the mood wasn’t great 😉 Three shots with the D850 using the Nikkor 24/f3.5 PC-E in portrait mode .
Scoop mill Honigfleth
I had already picked out the mill – in its origin from 16th century – some time ago. Yesterday we had a look at the object. To take photos, the place is rather less suitable, because it is teeming with modern windmills and electricity pylons, no matter from which direction.
Bremerhaven – Havenwelten and Simon Loschen lighthouse
Last night I tried to shoot the lighthouse Simon Loschen as planned. Unfortunately, the locations are very close to the lighthouse. I have used the 24mm PC-E, but if it is set so high shifted, the perspective remains as desired, i. e. without falling lines, but to me this seems very unrealistic. I have to […]
Lighthouse Arngast
As planned earlier we made it on Dec-28th to Wilhelmshaven for some lighthouse shots. Although the sunrise was not as I was hoping for, it was at least a good chance to explore the location further.
Lighthouse Arngast
The Jadebusen tour wasn’t turning out that good. Although the tour itself was nice, but the chances of taking some pictures were very limited due to very misty weather. Only two chances to grab a shot of Arngast were available. The second location was already showing a lot of flickering air and therefore not working […]
Bremerhaven’s last streetcar
Found the last resort of the last streetcar that was used in Bremerhaven until 1982. Seems to stand there for some years and does not look it can ever be used again 🙂 The streetcar shown here was built in 1952 and was in use to the last day on Jul-30th 1982. Intention for the […]
Bremerhaven – Automobile carrier in the harbour
Another run with the D2x set to b/w picture mode. Again using the Nikkor 24 f/2.8. This time watching the tugboats in the Bremerhaven lock getting a big automobile carrier into the harbour.
Bremerhaven – Lighthouse Geeste
Things sometimes get different than planned. The planned location where I wanted to take the shots from was closed to public and slightly left to that point (which would still have worked), a ship was moored. I took one testshot between the ship and the fence but that wasn’t the picture I was looking for. […]
