Well, that was quite a surprise on the afternoon of 12 August. A fat oval of aurora borealis with the prospect of it lasting into the evening was announced. I abandoned my plan to photograph the Perseids in Dorum and instead drove to the Kugelbake – or rather to the northernmost point of Lower Saxony – and tried my luck there.
But then everything turned out differently…
After a while, the Perseids were no longer so important to me. Although some were also captured. A clearly visible aurora appeared to the north-east. The beamers occasionally reached the zenith.
What a night!
