Yesterday evening it was briefly possible to try out the Skywatcher Maksutov 102/1300. I had to do without the temperature compensation due to the weather situation and quickly take a few pictures before the clouds moved in front of the moon again.

The image is cropped to 1:1 in width only.

The sharpness is not quite as good as with the Nikkor 500mm or the Sigma 150-600mm, but the resolution is quite good. With the Fuji’s electronic shutter, that’s no problem either. With the Nikon it wouldn’t have worked so well despite the mirror lockup. With 1300mm focal length not so surprising.

For the second test with 1.5 Kenko teleconverter I didn’t come anymore because of clouds.
