For 36 hours a photo friend was in Cuxhaven. A program was quickly put together. Landscape, birds and what else that is somewhat nice and can be done in 1.5 days.

On Thursday afternoon for bird photography to Cappel-Neufeld. That was already a mess. Neither at the jetty nor at the NABU tower any activities in reachable distance.

For sunset we went to Obereversand. That was already better…

Obereversand

…and, no, unfortunately, this is not a comet 🙂

Obereversand

That was it for the first half day.

On Friday morning we went to the Kugelbake.

When it got more light, we changed equipment and searched for the feathered friends at the Kugelbake and the guide dam. Directly on the way there were the snow buntings in search of food. These are here at the coast at the moment my favorite birds. Always active and not so shy.

The usual journeymen were then to be found at the guide dam.

Raven (Corvus corax)

Oystercatcher (Haematopus ostralegus)

Eider duck (Somateria mollissima)

After an unsuccessful attempt in salt marshes in Berensch, we went again briefly to Cappel-Neufeld, but also there was rather little activity.

In the evening we visited Obereversand once again. The hope for a few high clouds, as predicted in the app, were also not disappointed, but at the end of the day down on the horizon was a wide cloud layer, which prevented a beautiful coloring of the high clouds.

On the way back to Cuxhaven we made a short stop at the Midlum wind mill.

At the Obereversand and the Kugelbake I also made a timelapse each.
