After the eagle tour we went to the east bank hide for a few hours. Eagles were rather not to be expected, but even so it was quite productive. Red kites, buzzards and the obligatory magpies came to the bait. Only the ravens, which we had already had here before, didn’t show up.

A short turf fight between a red kite and a buzzard also took place.

A few crane pictures from the polder Bramel. Heavy cloud cover and relatively large distance are reflected in the poor quality of the pictures. The pictures were taken with the Nikon D500 on the Nikkor 500/f5.6 and the TC-14.
I haven’t seen any snow buntings yet this early morning, but I have seen larger colonies of sandpipers on rising water.
The waxwings were unfortunately not to be seen today in the early morning, but a few other native species. The latter could also be a song thrush, I’m not so sure.
