Rome will be the third stay during the trip. From Artimino to Rome we will drive through some additional nice places in Tuscany.
We will be there 6 days but take one day out and get to Pompeii by car.
Rome
This leaves 4 full day in Rome. While we will spend a lot of time visiting some places we have seen already in 2007, we will also have 3 guided tours during the stay. The following list won’t be strictly in the order as published here but indication on daily level.
Day 1
The first day, we will explore the area around the Roman Forum, Colosseum and Pantheon and move further to other places in the city like Piazza Navona and Trevi Fountain.
Day 2
We will have 2 guided tours that day. Starting with the first guided tour called Ancient Rome which will take us around the Roman Forum, Colosseum and Pantheon. Second guided tour in the afternoon will cover Vatican area including the Sistine Chapel.
Day 3
Starting after the third guided tour we will visit the nice areas around the different plazas like Piazza della Rotonda, Piazza di Spagna and Piazza del Popolo. The day should end in the Trastevere ward which was recommended for having great dinner.
Day 4
Planned to use for revisiting some of the places done during the other days.
Pompeii
We spent a full day in Pompeii in 2007 and it was fascinating to walk around and see this historic place. Therefore we planned again a full day in Pompeii and see places we missed last time.

We might concentrate on the upper/left area this time but I would need to verify this before planning further.
