Djúpivogur is also just an interim stop to avoid too many kilometers traveling at one day. Option in Djúpivogur would be to visit Papey Island before leaving towards Hali as the distance is only 160 km for this day and all is just to follow ring road 1.
Short side route via the F985 to get a closer view to the glacier.
Jökulsárlón
Jökulsárlón (literally “glacial river lagoon”) is a large glacial lake in southeast Iceland, on the edge of Vatnajökull National Park. It is one of the top must sees in Iceland.
On day 12 evening hours can be used to shoot some pictures and another early morning set on day 13.
