No luck with cranes

Went to the Rehdener Geestmoor to see the huge crane crowds during migration season. Up to 20000 birds are out there. Well, weather wasn’t good and so also the pictures went. Anyway, some impressions…

Very early morning shots of the geese also being in that area. Thousands of birds suddenly going up. Unfortunately the cranes went into the opposite direction of the viewing place.

You have to drive around in the area once the cranes have taken off of their night place. They are around in the fields to pick their food. However, these birds are so shy, their escape distance is really big. Once you stop with the car, before even getting your gear setup, they are already start flying away (and of course not into the car’s direction).
