My target object for the last session was the Pleiades (also known as the Seven Sisters). As mentioned, I had to wait to get them higher in the night sky to avoid too much light pollution.

The mistake I made when shooting this was that I thought it’s fine to re-use the same darks I did for the North America Nebula as it had the same settings. However, I do have lots of noise on the stacked image which does not make it looking as good as it could have been. The faint nebulas should have come out more.

M 45 – Pleiades

The shot was done with 40 light and 10 dark frames using ISO 1600 on the D800.
