The main shot

The Cappella della Madonna di Vitaleta was visited in 2016 as well. Unfortunately only at  a time of the day when the sun was high up in the sky. In 2017 there should be plenty of time when this can be visited. I guess best time is late evening when the sun is lightning up the entrance of the chapel (as shown in below picture from 2016).

The camera position should be similar with the same perspective.

The TPE shows that best time, when the entrance is in the light, will be late evening, around 30 minutes before sunset with the sun being already close to the horizon.

Using Photo Transit, the best lens to be used here is either the Zeiss 25mm or the Zeiss 35mm. The latter one was used in the shot from 2016. Depending on the surroundings, the 25mm might give a better view by including some more to the left.

As this area is also available in Street-View, Photo Transit was able to show the approximate shooting position location.

Additional

The area around the chapel will offer some additional positions which should come out quite nice not only at a later afternoon or early evening time but also in the morning. Another possibility might be a night shot having the milky way in sight. Light pollution might still be too high for that. I have never done such picture, so might be worth to try out.

The above view did come out quite nice last time, so should work as well in 2017. If the sky does show interesting clouds, it might be worth to do a timelapse of this.

This view is not only good for the evening when the sun lights the right side of the tree but also for the morning (maybe after the Terrapille morning shot, which location is very close to the chapel).

The distance in both cases will require a long lens. To avoid cropping too much when FX is being used, this should be done using the D7200 with the Tamron 70-200/f2.8. This combination allows easy composition of the shot.

The approximate field of view can be seen from Photo Transit in Street View mode.
