In the past years I always used the Feisol CT3442 for landscape photography. The most annoying thing about that tripod was that it wasn’t the rapid version and I often messed up with the legs when unfolding it.

Because of that and as I was looking for a solid mount also to be used with my Wimberley WH200 I searched the internet and read a lot what tripod would be best suitable. I finally decided to buy the Gitzo GT4552TS. The TS version because it still is very small when folded (nearly same size as the Feisol) and can be used also for traveling.

I furthermore was looking for a leveling unit that could deal best with the Arca Swiss D4 “problem”. The D4 has a knob for the lower panoramic plate that gets stuck when the base plate on the tripod or leveling unit is too large. Finally I bought a Berlebach N75 which has such a 6 cm base plat and the head fits perfectly on it.

From first impression a really sturdy setup. I will try it out in the next days with both heads and see whether it does the job as I am expecting it to do.
