Last day of the trip. On the program is Old Tucson Studios, Sonora Desert Museum and Saguaro National Park.

First to the Old Tucson Studios. This is where the Duke shot his most famous films (e.g. El Dorado). Almost everything is as it was 30 years ago, except the computer cash registers, which are new. You don’t have to see it, but you can…

Old Tucson

Then to the Sonora Desert Museum. It is very hot today. The thermometer shows about 27°C, so even the animals are in the shade. But some of them came in front of my lens. The small hummingbirds are hard to catch in flight.

Whether these are now the prices for the different types of grass, I can unfortunately not say…

Tucson

Back to the hotel, pack suitcase for trial and weigh. Only about 2kg overweight. That is within limits and can still be reduced. So everything is in the green zone.

After a good coffee at Starbucks outside on the terrace we go to the Saguaro National Park. Forests of giant saguaros form the backdrop for a successful conclusion of the trip.

Saguaro National Park

Oh yes, on the way back to the hotel and dinner, the moon (yesterday was full moon) showed itself also once again gracious and sublime over Tucson.

Tucson

At the end of the day, we go out for a really good Mexican meal. The reception at the Courtyard recommends El Charro, an award-winning restaurant in Tucson. It is considered one of the 5 best restaurants in Sunshine City. Bull’s eye! Absolutely top notch and great atmosphere. Highly recommended…

Tomorrow we leave after breakfast for Phoenix. First to the Hard Rock Cafe and then to the airport. In the evening the plane to London Heathrow and onward flight to Hamburg.

Unless something extraordinary happens or Horst and Hedwig (see outbound flight) are spotted with a cold Super Burrito on the plane, this will be the last entry in the blog.
